HS-1200 Induces Apoptosis and Inhibits Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition in Oral Squamous Carcinoma
Kim Young-Jin

Abstract
Objectives: HS-1200 is a synthetic derivative of bile acid that has been proven to induce apoptosis in various types of cancer cells. However, whether HS-1200 inhibits metastasis in oral cancer has not yet been determined. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the anti-cancer effect of HS-1200 through the inhibition of EMT in human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).

Methods: The cytotoxicity effect of HS-1200 was assessed using an MTT assay. Furthermore, the cell migration and invasion ratios were obtained using a wound-healing assay and a transwell migration assay. The expressions of protein and mRNA levels were measured using a western blot analysis and real-time PCR.

Results: HS-1200 was observed to inhibit the metastasis of cancer cells by regulating EMT in SCC-25 and HSC-3 cells.

Conclusions: HS-1200 exhibits considerable potential as a treatment for OSCC.
